Not only does this powerful year bring us two more perfections of the Uranus-Pluto square and a bonus lunar eclipse, but there are also potent aspect patterns involving slower planets. First, there's a repeat of the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto Yod (which first peaked the day after the 2012 Winter Solstice) as Spring dawns. Next up are two overlapping Grand Trines (Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune and Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron), which blanket most of the summer. Most dramatically, the summertime also features Jupiter firing up the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square, igniting a T-square that lasts almost two months!

The Solar Return chart shows the moment, on or near each birthday, when the transiting Sun returns to its exact natal position. This chart shows important energy trends for the next 12 months, as well as optimal life areas to focus on during that time.

Using the charts of Barack Obama, Albert Einstein, Barry Bonds and Sean Penn, Benjamin’s lively and informative PowerPoint presentation will show how to uncover and communicate the most critical life themes: the ones being emphasized by the Solar Return Chart and current transits and progressions.

Benjamin Bernstein will speak on "Light Speed Astrology: Diving into the Heart of the Chart" at the January 2009 meeting of the Asheville Friends of Astrology on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. His presentation will be held in the Earth Fare Westgate Community Room, 66 Westgate Parkway in Asheville.

After doing hundreds of walk-up consultations, Benjamin has learned how to zoom right in on the chart's most important information. He'll demonstrate several zero prep techniques, including how to scope out a natal chart's "hot spots," identify the most significant transits, progressions and solar arcs to personal planets and angles, and dialogue with the client to make sure that their concerns are being addressed. He will use the charts of audience volunteers to demonstrate his methods.
